A 19-year-old bicyclist was badly injured in a transport explosion after he ran a red endurable at a major Somerville intersection untimely this morning, State Police said. At about 12:30 a.m., the Somerville manservant was struck by a 2006 Hyundai Elantra, driven by a 46-year-old Medford man, at the intersection of Route 16 and Broadway, State Police said.
The bicyclist was identified by State Police as Joseph A. Santo of Somerville. Santo was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital; the Medford mankind was uninjured. Initial interrogation led the law to conclude that the Elantra driver was not at fault.
No charges have been pressed, State Police said in a statement.
