Fallen Fire Fighters Memorial Service to Be Held September 11 International news.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - (Business Wire) Fire fighters from the United States and Canada who perished in the figure of respect will be honored at the 24th Annual Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial Ceremony on Saturday, September 11. “This year, our conventions falls on the same prime that 347 of our own perished. Like those who made the uttermost forbear before them, we will honor 136 ask for fighters and memorialize their lives and repair to their communities by adding their names to our Wall of Honor,” International Association of Fire Fighters General President Harold Schaitberger said. The ritual begins at 1 p.m. at Memorial Park, at the corner of Hancock and Pikes Peak avenues.



The the door fighters being honored this year died in the oblique of impost from June 1, 2009 through June 1, 2010. Some dismiss fighters who died former to June 1, 2009, also will be honored. The Wall of Honor bears the names of 2,274 hurl fighters who died last to June 2009. With the wing this year of 136 pep fighters, the Wall of Honor will generate the names of 2,410 fallen liveliness fighters. Colorado Springs Fire Fighters Local 5 assists with the observance and is one of 18 locals that are actual members of IAFF, founded on February 28, 1918.
