LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Dubai Majesty has won the US$1-million Filly & Mare Sprint at the Breeders' Cup. Ridden by Jamie Theriot, the five-year-old mare ran seven furlongs in 1:22.31 on Friday at Churchill Downs.
Sent off at 8-1 odds, Dubai Majesty paid $19.20 to win. Switch was second, Evening Jewel third and Champagne D'Oro fourth in the 13-horse field.
It was the blue ribbon Breeders' Cup get for both Theriot and trainer Bret Calhoun. The owners had to pay out a $90,000 supplemental payment to get Dubai Majesty into the race.
