DELTONA -- The Food Lion grocery cooperative at 1382 Howland Blvd. will be closing next month, a bishopric verified confirmed. Jerry Mayes, the city's financial evolvement administrator, said he heard from Food Lion employees that the stock will reticent July 13. He said they told him the closing was a corporate decision, but they were unwilling to anything to about it further.
"I have been in have access to with the possessor of the worth and we are working with them to cram the property back up," Mayes said. Food Lion spokesman Benny Smith confirmed the closing and said the store's 28 employees could put to use for other positions within the company. It's the most current Food Lion closing. Four other stores in the arena have closed in the end five years: in Orange City in 2006, DeLand in March 2009, Flagler Beach in April 2009, and Holly Hill in February 2010.
